One game was played in Group D on Friday as the World Cup continued in South Africa.
At Port Elizabeth:
Serbia knocked off ten-man Germany 1-0. Milan Jovanovic scored the only goal of the match at 38 minutes, two minutes after the Germans' Mirolav Klose was given a red card (resulting from a second yellow card) and was ejected. Goalkeeper Vladimir Stojkovic preserved the shutout and the victory when he stopped Lukas Podolski's equalizing penalty kick in the 60th minute, seen here with Cool Hand Luke's teammate Bastian Schweinsteiger looking on in disbelief in this Associated Press photo from Gero Breloer.
