MLS: Wizards End Winless Streak; Chris Pontius Hat Trick Spurs DCU

Two games were played on Thursday in Major League Soccer as the league begins its' two-week World Cup break.

At Kansas City, Kansas:

Kei Kamara (8') and Graham Zusi (35') each tallied once in the first half as the Kansas City Wizards ended their eight-game winless streak with a 2-0 blanking of the visiting Philadelphia Union.

At Seattle:

Chris Pontius scored his first career hat trick (39', 43', 79') as DC United held off Seattle Sounders FC on the road 3-2.  It was the final MLS contest before Friday's start of the World Cup.
